Department Of Pharmacutics

The Department of Pharmaceutics was established in 2007. Teaching coupled with research is the primary activity at the Department. Undergraduate’s students are involved in learning process and avail the extensive resources available in the Department opportunity to be involved in research.
            Within the board area of design and development of new drug delivery and conventional dosage forms, the major focus areas include

  • Preformulation studies.
  • Formulation and development of conventional dosage forms.
  • Design and development of new drug delivery systems.
  • Drug targeting approaches.

Undergraduate’s students mainly focused on development of new drug delivery system such as liposomes, solid lipid microparticles (SLM), biodegradable parenterals and sustained release formulations for optimizing the treatment of cancer, AIDS, tuberculosis, diabetes and cardiac diseases. The Department has experienced and highly qualified staff members who have been exposed institutions and companies.


Department Of Pharmacology

The Department of Pharmacology was established in 2007 for undergraduate studies. Involving the studies related to screening of drugs / herbal extracts for anti-diabetic activity, cardiovascular activity, mutagenicity, anxiolytic, sedative. Furthermore, the Department’s staff members are actively involved as research coordinators in executing projects for industries like., Karnataka areas of research at the Department are related to diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, cardiovascular system, psychopharmacology, drug delivery system and genotoxicity studies, A well equipped CPCSEA certified animal house is maintained by the Department. The Department of pharmacology is equipped with state-of-the-art equipments


Department Of Pharmaceutical Chemistry

The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry was established in the year 2007. Since then, the Department has been actively involved in imparting a relevant knowledge base and technical skills in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry; offering activities in the field of industrial research, development of eco-friendly and “green chemistry methodologies”, and fundamental academic research.

The Department offers excellent infrastructure with sophisticated equipment and well equipped laboratories; and knowledge in the form of a vast collection of relevant books and journals. Moreover, extensive publications in national and international journals of repute, speaks volumes of the Department’s commitment to research activities.

Department Of Pharmacognosy

Established in 2007. The infrastructure of the Department includes state-of-the-art laboratories with all the facilities for isolation, characterization and estimation of phyto-constitutents including UV. The Department is also well equipped to carry out tissue culture studies.


Animal House

Vision: Humane care for experimental animals as per the standard guidelines.
Mission: To provide animals for testing which has specific aims to advance practical aspects of new drug discovery and disease management.

The maintenance condition of our animal house has gained it the status of standard well equipped animal experimentation laboratories are situated adjacent to the animal house. Experiments on mice, rats, rabbits and Guinea pigs are routinely carried out with a prior approval from the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC). The Committee members meet twice in a years and strictly monitor the need and necessity of the animal experiments

MEDICINAL PLANTS

The medicinal plants procured from various herbal gardens & wild are being maintained in decorative pots in the college campus. They provide the basic information regarding their source family, chemical constituents and uses Students View
